I do not know anything about building materials, can the experts explain what are these materials made of or where they come from?
Andres Bastidas Steel is an alloy consisting mostly of iron, with a carbon content between 0.2% and 2.1% by weight and this percentage depend on the grade of force you need. Viviana Da Silva: bricks are modular pieces, made by man: a Brick is a piece of pottery, obtained by molding, drying and firing at high temperatures of a clay paste. of very small particles of hydrated alumina silicates, and other minerals. Karla Maldonado: Stone is a naturally occurring solid aggregate of minerals and/or mineraloids, which come from the center of the earth. Stone is the most naturally material, and it´s the first material used for providing shelter for people.
What are the most used application for these materials?
Viviana Da Silva: Bricks are used in construction walls, and partitions. It is mainly used to construct masonry walls, partitions or partition wall. The arrangement of the bricks in the wall is known as rigging and there are a variety of them. Karla Maldonado: almost all the times since the beginning of the world, Stone has been used in two ways: as rubble (mortar bounded broken stones) and as Ashlar masonry (regular cut blocks), both are used in construction of columns, walls, roofing, etc... stone has he capacity of adaptability to sculptural treatment so it is used in that field too, and over all it gives the work a natural look. Andres Bastidas: Well it depends on what you will use the house for and what are your preferences , for example : You can use steel for the structure of your house because it is one of the strongest materials used in construction and it works well in compression and tension . Viviana Da Silva: Also you can use bricks for building walls or partitions because bricks work well in compression but is poor in tension. Karla Maldonado: In the specific case of stone, in ancient times people used that for structures, nowadays it is more use for divisions , because it has rigidity and is the material which has more durability, and you can use it for covering walls and surfaces too.
